Notice in the background, I have a phone wall mounted right at my shoulder height, so I can answer calls and make an emergency call if ever needed. Right below the phone, about a foot off the floor, I have a good brand new fire extinguisher mounted. The reason for this so low, is in case of a fire, and I fell out of the chair, I want to be able to grab that sucker, and have a few extra seconds to crawl out of the shop if needed. If it is too high I will not be able to grab it from the floor. To the right of the phone, and just a bit above, the switch to my overhead fluorescent lights is real handy. I always wear a respirator and safety glasses. DO NOT ever go into the shop thinking you are just going to do a quick couple of things, and not put on the safety glasses, you only have two eyes, and there are more freak eye accidents from things flying up into them. |
